Messa del Cervo
The anti-aircraft and anti-ship battery of Messa del Cervo is another example of military architecture that ingeniously blends into its surroundings. The barracks, cannon batteries and ammunition stores were built in an imitation of rural architecture, so that from above they would appear similar to the dwellings of the shepherds who lived on the Sardinian coasts.
To reach the batteries, follow a path that branches off (to the left for those arriving from the south) from the Eastern Ridge just before the descent to the battery of Candeo.
